Seahorse Room / ECCEOur full time pre-school room provides a safe and well equipped environment in which your child will grow physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually to their full and unique potential. It is the first steps towards preparation for school life.
Our approach at Knocklyon Lodge is to have a play based emergent curriculum influenced by Aistear- the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, Síolta-National Quality Framework for Early Years and Better Start Program established by DCYA. With the right mediums and support children can and will learn. Play teaches children social skills e.g. sharing, turn taking, self-discipline and tolerance. Our evolving curriculum will be filled with opportunities to encourage children to reach developmental milestones and gain life skills. This is achieved through embracing all differences with an anti-bias approach. Our highly trained practitioners will aid in your child's learning and actively support each child within their care. Our full time Pre-School Room & sessional ECCE Rooms are filled with fun activities such as Montessori materials, Sand & Water trays, Mark making opportunities, practical life materials. Children have the opportunity & support to learn through play. In conjunction to our full time class, we also run three sessional ECCE classes. Class times: 8.30-11.30am / 11.40-2.40pm / 9-12noon. Our ECCE classes runs from Sept-June for 38 weeks of the year. We are fully registered for the free pre-school year under the ECCE scheme.
